Parenting Coordination
Sherwood Park’s Trusted Parenting Coordinator
Sometimes the challenge of how to parent your children continues even after all other questions have been settled. That’s when you need to look for a parenting coordinator with experience of at least 10 years, in dealing with divorce and high-conflict parenting situations. Parenting coordinators work with the parents to discuss and solve everyday parenting questions and avoid expensive court battles. Roles and Responsibilities of a Parenting Coordinator
- Oversees and administers a court created parenting plan
- Mediates the parenting challenges that arise and helps you find a solution
- Provides parents with insights and resources to understand the parenting challenges they face
- Helps you with options on how to deal with such challenges
If mediation does not give a solution that both parents can agree to, the parenting coordinator will decide the solution. This is called an arbitration award and is treated as if it had been made by a judge in a courtroom. Parents can come to a parenting coordinator either by court referral or by approaching a parenting coordinator directly as long as they have a parenting plan in place.
